Known as the gateway to the fjords, Bergen is a great starting point to explore the unique landscape of Western Norway. This package even lets you visit Flåm and see the UNESCO-listed Nærøyfjord close up on a day trip from Bergen!
Take the bus from Bergen town centre in the morning* and be in Gudvangen just in time to board an electrical fjord cruise to Flåm. The cruise takes you on a 2-hour, scenic voyage through the Nærøyfjord and the Aurlandsfjord. Upon arrival to Flåm, you have some free time to spend before you get back on the bus for the 3-hour drive to Bergen.
*In the summer season, you can also catch the afternoon departure or choose the option with time to visit the Viking Valley in Gudvangen.

Norway is known for our many fjords, but only two of them are listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The Nærøyfjord is one of these two. What’s special with this fjord compared to others, is that it is almost untouched in modern times. From the cruise you can enjoy views to road-less farms and almost vertical mountain sides with waterfalls plunging hundreds of metres into the fjord.
What you can do in Flåm depends on the time of year and schedule you choose. But everyone will have time to pop by Flåm Bakery, the Flåm Railway Museum and do some souvenir shopping at Memories from Flåm.
Those with more time before the return bus leaves for Bergen, have various alternatives.
Buy something to eat from the bakery or at the market square and walk over to the beach for a picnic. Take Rallartoget for a sightseeing tour or go on a micro-adventure with eMobility. Stegastein Viewpoint is a great place to see the Aurlandsfjord from an Eagle’s eye perspective. There are also bicycles for rent in Flåm.
