Explore the Trollfjord from Svolvær

The Trollfjorden is a picturesque 2-kilometer-long and only 100-metre-wide fjord, surrounded by mountains rising up to 1100 metres above the sea level. The only way to access it, beside a long and streneous hike, is by boat.

During the trip we will make some short stop at small islands and bays. In addition, most certainly get a few sea eagles up close. Your guide will share their knowledge about the area and the wildlife along the way.

Sea eagles

Chances are you will see some spectacular wildlife, and most certainly a few sea eagles. We drive through Raftsundet, which has a significant large presence of sea eagles. With a wingspan on 2.65 m, it is the largest eagle in north Europe. 

A peculiar battle

Trollfjord was the scene of a very unusual battle between fishermen which took place in 1890. The fjord was especially rich with cod, which lured modern fishermen with steam vessels to the area. Eventually they decided to try to cut off the traditional fishing boats in order to keep all the fish for themselves. The old fishermen, on the other hand, took up the fight.
