Located on the shores of the Norddalsfjord, which is an arm of the Storfjord stretching into Tafjord, and surrounded by impressive mountains, Valldal Fjordhotell offers 40 comfortable rooms. All rooms are on the ground floor with private terraces facing either the fjords or the mountains which also gives access to the hotel’s large outdoor area. If you think Valldal is just a place to stay between Geiranger and Trollstigen, think twice! Valldal is a perfect hub for active holidays. Try rafting in the river Valldøla, kayaking on the fjord, or go hiking in the spectacular mountains. The activity park with high rope courses and ziplines are popular among families. At the upper end of the valley, you find Gudbrandsjuvet. Stop at the viewpoint above the 25-metre-high ravine on your way to or from Trollstigen. If it is raining, drop by the bowling next door.

Centrally located in the hotel, the restaurant Heilag Olav invites you to enjoy a delicious meal with an amazing view of the fjord and mountains through its large windows. It is decorated with artworks and a rare stone collection from the area. We serve homemade food based on local ingredients and varying seasonality. In the summer you can also enjoy the food while sitting on our outside terrace.

Next to the restaurant you can sit and relax in the newest addition to the hotel, our cosy lounge with a star-sky ceiling and large panoramic windows with breath-taking view of the landscape. The interior is modern yet charming with comfortable chairs and armchairs, lamps and soft carpets.
