Waterfall hike & Stegastein Viewpoint

Guided hike to Turlifossen Waterfall
The tour starts at FjordSafari’s office by the quay in Flåm. From there you will drive 15 minutes to Aurland where you start your walk from Aurland’s Organic farming school. After a few hundred metres along the road, you take off on a path through the forest. As you approach the waterfall, be prepared to get wet. The risk of getting a shower is huge! You follow the path that goes up past the waterfall for a bit and stop at a small plateau where you have views towards the fjord landscape.
Return the same way.
Turlifossen Waterfall
With a total height of 245 metres and the tallest single drop being over 160 metres, Turlifossen waterfall is a spectacular sight nearby.
The best time to see it is in May to early July, similar to most waterfalls around Norway. This is when the snow melting is at its most powerful. But because Turlifossen also gets water from Blåskavlen Glacier, it has a good flow the whole summer half of the year.

After returning to the minibus from the waterfall, you will continue the tour by driving up to Stegastein Viewpoint. Stegastein is one of Norway’s most popular viewpoints. It is a platform sticking 30 metres out from the mountain side, offering a panorama of the Aurlandsfjord 650 metres below.
