Itinerary: Corporate Gathering in Flåm
Our skilled team in the MICE department has extensive experience in creating programs tailored to the client's needs. The following program was developed in collaboration with a client who had an eventful and memorable trip to Flåm with 96 participants in September 2021.
- Customer feedbackIt has been incredibly good to be able to communicate with a person about all the details, and to communicate with someone who is professional and understands what we want.
Day 1: Travel to and get acquainted with Flåm
From Bergen*, the journey continues by train to Myrdal, where you switch to the Flåm Railway. The world-famous train route through the Flåm Valley is a must-see, and what could be better than experiencing it as part of the trip here?
After about an hour's time, you are by the fjord and just a short walk from the Fretheim Hotel, where check-in and a 2-course lunch await in the Arven restaurant. A bit of free time later, it's time for a beer tasting at our good neighbor, Ægir Brewery. Here you can taste different kinds of beer accompanied by storytelling.
Day 1 concludes with dinner at Fretheim Hotel before guests can gather in the cozy Lobby bar or retire to their rooms.
* The journey can begin at any station along the Bergen Railway, the program is adapted to the timetable. We are happy to arrange transportation from Bergen Airport Flesland to Bergen station for customers arriving by plane, similar to the group that created this program.
Day 2: Activities tailored to various interests
After a good night's sleep, time is set aside to enjoy the large breakfast buffet at leisure. Remember to pack lunch before leaving the restaurant, as day 2 offers active experiences in the area.
Three different activities have been arranged for selection. The first offers a small dose of adrenaline and begins with taking the Flåm Railway back up to the Vatnahalsen station, where the longest zipline in the Nordic countries awaits before cycling the final part of the Rallarvegen back to Flåm.
Other options include a guided mountain hike with fjord views for those who are somewhat fit. The goal is Prest (1,478 meters above sea level), and the first leg is by bus past Aurland and the Stegastein viewpoint to the starting point of the hike. It is a relatively easy, but at times steep, hike, with a formidable view of the Aurlandsfjord from the cairn at Røyrgrind (1,363 meters above sea level).
The last option is a shorter guided tour suitable for most people, regardless of physical condition. This tour starts on asphalt along the Flåm River before turning off onto a trail and Sherpa steps up to a viewpoint at Brekkefossen. Here, one not only has a good view of the waterfall itself, but also a panoramic view of the Flåm valley, Flåm center, and the Aurlandsfjord.
Banquet in a private room at Fretheim Hotel
Regardless of which option one chooses, one will be back in Flåm by early afternoon and have a few hours at their disposal before everyone gathers for light grilled snacks and local beer in the beautiful hotel garden.
In the evening, there will be a banquet in a private room at the hotel. Our skilled kitchen staff offers a well-composed menu with suitable drinks to accompany it. Locally sourced food has always been served at this historic hotel. The meals here are not just a culinary experience, but also a taste of local culture and sustainability in practice. You will be served meat from animals that have grazed on the mountain slopes above the fjord, vegetables from the neighboring village of Lærdal, herbs and sprouts grown especially for us by the Sogn Horticulture and Agriculture School, and cheese made at a mountain dairy in Undredal.
Day 3: Departure by private boat
After breakfast on day 3, you check out and stroll the few meters down to the fjord. There, the boat that will take you through the World Heritage site to Gudvangen awaits. You have the all-electric vessel to yourselves, and as it sails quietly on the fjord, you can simply enjoy the view of the surroundings on the Aurlandsfjord and Nærøyfjord.
Two hours later, the boat docks at the quayside in Gudvangen and it's almost time for lunch. This time, the meal is served in true Viking style in the Viking village Njardarheimr where a local storyteller takes you on a journey back to the Viking Age.
Back to the present, you board the bus that takes you back to Bergen, and three memorable days by the fjord have come to an end.
