Itinerary: Corporate Trip to Flåm and Myrkdalen
Combining Flåm and Myrkdalen in the itinerary is both simple and attractive. This two-day proposal was tailor-made for a company in Bergen in the fall of 2021, with the help of our MICE department. The route can be adjusted for arrivals by train from any station along the Bergen Railway, and we can also arrange for transportation from Bergen Airport Flesland to Bergen station if arriving by air.
Day 1: Zipline and biking in Flåm Valley
The experience begins with a train from Bergen to Myrdal, where you switch to the Flåm Railway to take the world-famous train for one stop and get off at Vatnahalsen. And it is at Vatnahalsen that the experience really starts. For what could be more fitting on a corporate trip where colleagues are to get to know each other better, than for everyone to step a little out of their comfort zone?
Flåm Zipline is the longest in the Nordic countries with a span of 1,381 meters from the top at Vatnahalsen down to the mountain farm Kårdal, and offers a delightful mix of speed, excitement, and fantastic views. At the goat farm Kårdal, it's a good idea to take a short break before the next stage begins. Bicycles are ready to take you down to Flåm through the Flåm valley. The route is mostly downhill, but even though it might be tempting to just let the bike roll quickly, we recommend taking some time to explore the beautiful valley.
In Flåm, a delicious lunch awaits at the historic Fretheim Hotel, before you board the bus that will take you on to Myrkdalen.
Tips for suitable additions in FlåmIf you desire more experiences in Flåm, it's possible to engage in outdoor team building activities in the beautiful garden of the Fretheim Hotel. You can also experience a spectacular fjord cruise through the Nærøyfjord to Gudvangen as part of the onward journey to Myrkdalen.
Culinary experiences in Myrkdalen
Upon arrival in Myrkdalen, you check into your rooms at Myrkdalen Hotel and meet again for beer tasting. The traditional beer brewing has been strong in Voss and the surrounding region, and recently several good microbreweries have emerged in the area with beers you will now get to taste.
Day 1 concludes with a delightful 3- or 4-course dinner at the Nuten restaurant or an extra social meal at Nuten Fondue. If you wish to continue the good vibes after the meal, you can head to the Pudder afterski bar or settle into one of the chairs at the Salto lobby bar.
Day 2: Meeting day and return home
The last day starts with a breakfast buffet at the Nuten restaurant before you head down to the conference room for a meeting. Myrkdalen Hotel has meeting rooms of various sizes, all equipped with the facilities one would need.
The stay concludes with a 2-course lunch before you check out of the hotel and board the bus that will take you to Voss station where the train awaits.
Tips for suitable additions in Myrkdalen
If you do not need a meeting or wish to extend your stay in Myrkdalen, it is not difficult to find ways to pass the time. Among other things, the team-building competition "Pentathlon", where you compete in teams, is popular among many companies. Other options in spring, summer, and autumn include cycling and hiking trips. Perhaps you would rather have lunch at Fjellstova Vetlebotn, which is located at one of the mountain pastures above Myrkdalen center? You can get there on foot or by bike.
