Our leading target group is families. There is a high demand for short-term accommodation in both summer and winter. Weekends and holidays in the winter season are when we experience the greatest need for increased capacity. In recent years, we have observed a rise in the international market for midweek stays during winter.


Myrkdalen Mountain Resort's rental units are highly sought after during the summer, particularly in July and August. In the summer, most of our visitors come through tour operators, so prices during this period are significantly lower compared to winter. However, we experience higher occupancy rates. Myrkdalen maintains high occupancy levels throughout the year, with the highest room rates occurring during weekends and holidays in the winter season.

There are many opportunities with us, and the rental market is good.




All rental services at Myrkdalen Mountain Resort are managed by Myrkdalen Hotel, ensuring a hassle-free rental experience for you as an owner. Through Myrkdalen Hotel, you are guaranteed a professional sales and marketing team, handling of check-in and check-out, and cleaning services. As an owner, you don't need to worry about anything – we take care of all contracts, payments, and any other challenges that may arise. You will receive a statement from us once a month, and it should be easy and safe to rent out through us.

At Myrkdalen Mountain Resort, we operate with two different rental models, as described below.

Rental in Kamben, Torggarden and future central buildings

- These units are bookable as hotel rooms

The rental model for these buildings is based on all rental units being included in a shared pool. The total rental income for the building is distributed among the owners according to the available room nights for each unit. Myrkdalen Hotel AS is responsible for allocating occupancy to the available units to ensure equal treatment of the owners as much as possible.

The model is based on the units in Kamben being bookable as hotel rooms. Therefore, the apartments must be furnished with a standard furniture package, which can be purchased through Myrkdalen Fjellandsby AS. According to this model, the owner will receive 60% of the net rental price (excluding VAT, any agent commission, and the cost of breakfast or other meals included in the stay). This model is expected to offer the most significant income potential, as the room rates are higher when the unit is rented out as a hotel room.

Rental of apartment or cabin (all units except for central buildings)

These units are bookable as self-service accommodations

When the units are available for self-service accommodations, the owner has the freedom to add a personal touch to the cabin or apartment. Myrkdalen Fjellandsby AS does not impose any requirements for furniture or interior design. However, the lessors are required to meet a minimum standard of equipment. The self-service units are priced and categorized based on the number of bedrooms/beds, and the owner is paid for the actual number of nights the holiday home is rented out. In this model, the owner receives 60% of the net rental price (excluding VAT and any agent commission).

Holiday homes with exciting activities right outside the door all year round are a good investment.
