Travel tip: El-biking in Myrkdalen and Vikafjellet
More and more people are discovering the joy of electric bikes – especially when going uphill! What used to be a struggle up the hills has become effortlessly fun.
Once upon a time, there was a playful and active hare that grew up on Finnbunuten, one of the highest mountains in Myrkdalen. Unlike the rest of his family, Finn the hare was very curious, and one day he went down to the valley and discovered all the people who were constantly visiting.
Here, he was very well-liked by the people, who named him Finn when they realised he had come down from Finnbunuten. Finn probably thinks it's the mountain that was named after him, not the other way around.
Our playful friend loves to jump around and be active all the time! Summer or winter, he regularly makes the trip down to greet everyone who visits, especially children and youth. You might see him on his mountain bike at the pump track or bike trail during the summer.
When winter comes, his brown fur turns white, so if you see a white, fluffy hare descending the slopes, it's probably Finn. He loves to ski and often inspires the young ones in the park by showing off all the cool tricks he has learned.
Don't be surprised if he suddenly shows up and wants to give you a 'high five'!
