The Hikes

September 1st: Hike to Prest

At 1,478 metres above sea level, Prest is one of the most scenic and popular hikes overlooking the Aurlandsfjord.

The breathtaking views begin even before the hike starts, as you pass the famous Stegastein viewpoint by bus on your way to the trailhead.

Like many trails in the area, the ascent is steep, with an elevation gain of approximately 500 metres. Fortunately, the hike is relatively short - just 3 kilometres from the starting point to the summit.

Panoramic views accompany you nearly the entire way, becoming even more spectacular as you climb higher.

The route is an out-and-back trail, allowing groups to adjust the hike’s length based on fitness levels, ensuring everyone has time to fully enjoy the stunning surroundings.

September 2nd: Hike in Vikafjell

From Myrkdalen, the group will journey up the Vikafjellet mountain pass, renowned for its sweeping panoramic views. Towering peaks and dramatic valleys carve through the landscape, offering stunning views.

Vikafjellet has something for everyone, with a variety of hiking options catering to different fitness levels and preferences.

The hikes will be tailored to the group's wishes, but one thing is certain - breathtaking nature is guaranteed.

September 4th: Rimstigen Hike

Rimstigen is one of the must-do hikes in the region, offering a steep but rewarding ascent into the mountains. The trail begins in the small village of Bakka and follows the historic path once used by farmers to lead their animals to summer pastures.

Winding through lush forest and past the cascading Tufteelvi waterfalls, the trail offers breathtaking views over the Nærøyfjord - a UNESCO World Heritage site - and the dramatic hanging valley of Rimstigbotnen.

As an out-and-back route, the hike allows for flexibility, with the pace and distance adjusted to suit the group, ensuring everyone can fully enjoy the spectacular surroundings.
