We have designed this ski holiday for true ski enthusiasts looking for something a little out of the ordinary. Plan your annual getaway with friends to Myrkdalen and Vatnahalsen, and enjoy the world-class powder and exceptional off-piste skiing.

A true powder paradise

Myrkdalen is one of Norway's most snow-reliable ski resorts and is the most complete ski centre in Western Norway. With 22 varied slopes, parks, and excellent off-piste terrain, it offers something for everyone. Well-groomed slopes and untouched powder are particularly sought after here, and with its diverse terrain and superb forest skiing, Myrkdalen has become a favourite destination for off-piste enthusiasts.

Ski-in/ski-out

In the heart of Myrkdalen Mountain Village, you'll find the modern Myrkdalen Hotel, with ski-in/ski-out access to the ski resort. The hotel has 112 rooms of various sizes – from standard rooms to suites with multiple bedrooms. Here you'll find three restaurants with à la carte, fondue, and homemade pizza/pasta, as well as two bars and cafés with delicious dishes for people on the go.

If you are a large group of friends, you may also have an excellent stay in the cabins and modern apartments nearby the slopes. The units are equipped with everything you need to make good meals together. But if you're tired after a long day of skiing, why not order food delivery from the hotel?

A unique skiing experience at Vatnahalsen

Since 1896, Vatnahalsen has been a beloved destination for Norwegians and Europeans in search of a mountain retreat. The Vatnahalsen area is renowned for its reliable snow and varied terrain, offering long, scenic descents in every direction. When conditions are right, you can ski all the way down to the valley and take the Flåm Railway back to your hotel. This unique combination of train travel and world-class off-piste skiing makes Vatnahalsen an unparalleled skiing destination.

At Vatnahalsen, you can book guided ski touring experiences with certified Nortind guides.

At Vatnahalsen, you can book guided ski touring with certified Nortind guides (UIAGM) who have extensive experience and excellent communication skills. Their desire is to create unique skiing experiences while simultaneously building competence in off-piste skiing.

Hop on the train from Bergen or Oslo

Myrkdalen is located in the Northern part of the Voss region and it is easy to reach the destination. Take the train from Oslo or Bergen, and then a bus to Myrkdalen.

Driving from Bergen to the ski resort takes less than two hours. From Oslo, it takes about five hours and the fastest mountain pass is Hemsedalsfjellet.
