Fjord cruise on the Nærøyfjord

It's no coincidence that the Nærøyfjord is on UNESCO's World Heritage List. A fjord cruise through this narrow and beautiful fjord will provide you with a memory for life!

The boat trip between Gudvangen and Flåm takes one hour each way, with one hour on the Nærøyfjord and one hour on the Aurlandsfjord. The journey can be done in both directions. For your return trip, we recommend booking a connecting shuttle bus back to your starting point.

Get up close to the fjord in a RIB

Enjoy the magnificent Western Norwegian nature from open RIB boats on a guided tour with Fjordsafari on the Aurlandsfjord and in the Nærøyfjord World Heritage area! With a maximum of 12 guests per boat, you are guaranteed a personal experience with knowledgeable guides.

Prepare to gain a unique insight into the villages and life along the fjord. The guide shares local stories and legends from the area, while you keep an eye out for seals, porpoises, and eagles along the way.

The fjord from a bird's-eye view

Stegastein Viewpoint extends 30 meters out from the mountainside, 650 meters above the fjord, and offers an unparalleled panoramic view. A more spectacular view of the fjord, the mountains, and the magnificent fjord landscape is hard to find.

You will be transported by bus from Flåm to the viewpoint. In other words, you do not need to be in good physical shape to experience the viewpoint.

Other things to do in Flåm

For a small fjord village with around 350 inhabitants, Flåm offers a large and varied range of activities. If you're traveling with older children, Flåm Zipline is a sure winner. The Flåm Railway, hiking, and biking down the Flåm valley is another excellent combination.

A steep yet straightforward hike with unbeatable views is the path to Prest, which begins just above Stegastein. The Viking village in Gudvangen is also a fun experience for the whole family.

Food and drink

Food is a must whether you are going on a bike ride, hiking, or just enjoying the view from a train or boat. When you arrive in Flåm, we recommend stopping by Flåm Bakery to pick up something delicious to take with you. You'll find sandwiches, freshly baked bread, and sweet pastries here. Plus, great coffee!

If you want to have dinner before returning to Myrkdalen, make sure to visit Fretheim Hotel, where you can choose between the restaurants Utsyn and Arven. At the former, you'll likely find the region's best burgers, while Arven offers a buffet with a wide variety of cold and hot dishes during the summer months.
