Myrkdalen - a snow-sure destination

Myrkdalen is a snow-sure destination with freshly groomed slopes and amenities for everyone. Renowned as one of Norway’s top ski resorts, Myrkdalen offers a comprehensive range of features. As the largest ski resort in Western Norway, it offers family-friendly slopes, ski trails for all skill levels, parks, ski cross tracks, and exceptional off-piste terrain.

Moreover, Myrkdalen is one of the most snow-sure ski resorts in the country, with a season that typically lasts from November to May.

The powder paradise Myrkdalen

Myrkdalen consistently ranks as one of the top ski resorts in Norway for snowfall throughout the season. The terrain around the resort is ideal for off-piste skiing, with easy access from the lifts to extensive areas perfect for powder skiing. Throughout the winter, you'll hear joyful shouts and laughter from those gliding through the powder – and plenty of powder days are awaiting you in Myrkdalen.

Ski-in/ski-out

In the heart of Myrkdalen Mountain Village, you'll find the modern Myrkdalen Hotel, with ski–in/ski–out access to both the ski resort and the cross-country arena in Årmotslia. If you want more space for the family, you can also stay comfortably in high standard cabins and apartments. Leave your car parked for the entire holiday and immerse yourself in incredible experiences with family and friends.

Unwind with cross-country skiing

Holidays in Myrkdalen also offer incredible experiences for those who want to go cross-country or back-country skiing. As soon as the snow has settled, you can enjoy 30 km of groomed trails in Årmotslia, located just across the road from the ski centre.

The area is hilly and well-suited for both fitness enthusiasts and families with children who are looking to enjoy skiing, hot cocoa, and cosy moments.

The largest snow park in Western Norway

Myrkdalen caters not only to alpine skiers but also to those seeking more diverse experiences. There has been a significant investment in snow parks in recent years in collaboration with ShapeCrew. This season, you will find four different parks with challenges for every taste. The latest addition for park enthusiasts is our new "Adventure Slope" above the Storhaugekspressen ski lift. The park is like a roller coaster on snow, a modern track with fun park elements for adults and children.

Great food & drink

The kitchen at Myrkdalen Hotel is characterised by a love for food and the use of local ingredients. We make our dishes from scratch, with many of the ingredients supplied by local farmers. The hotel has three restaurants with à la carte, fondue, and homemade pizza that are widely known far beyond the country's borders. You will also find three cafés with tasty dishes for people on the go.

Skiing for the whole family

Taking the family skiing in Myrkdalen couldn't be easier. The children's area is conveniently located right at the base of the ski resort, with easy access to the parking, apartments, and Myrkdalen Hotel.
The area features a slow-moving conveyor belt for the youngest skiers, two platter lifts, three varied green slopes, and the "Fox Park", which consists of simple and playful park elements. During weekends and holidays throughout the winter, there are plenty of activities and events for children and youth.
