Powder for breakfast, fjords for dinner
Myrkdalen – the complete winter paradise in Western Norway, giving you the ultimate skiing holiday in Norway. Without traveling abroad, you can experience a powder paradise that gives you goosebumps and unparalleled thrills.
Historically, Myrkdalen stands out for its high snowfall, and was recently named one of the world's ten best places for powder skiing.
A complete alpine centre between mountains and fjords
Myrkdalen is one Norway's most snow-sure ski resorts, situated in a majestic landscape of mountains and fjords. The slopes are always freshly groomed, and untouched snow is just a few pole plants away. It's easy to get here – 2 hours from Bergen and 5.5 hours from Oslo.
The small valley outside Voss is known for being a complete and snow-sure destination that many have on their bucket list. Increasingly, enthusiasts from both domestic and international locations find their way here.
– The well-prepared tracks and untouched powder are especially highly valued.
Klaus Finne from Voss is a former freestyle national team athlete and now works as a content producer in Myrkdalen.
– Also, you have everything you need nearby, from restaurants, cafes, and bars to sports stores, ski rentals, and gyms; various activities with and without skis, he continues.
Great food and drinks
When you need to recharge between ski runs, there are several dining options in the area. The cosy Vetlebotn Mountain Lodge, located mid-slope, offers a fantastic view and delicious warm dishes made from high-quality ingredients.
At the Myrkdalsstovo Welcome Center, you can enjoy the unique signature dish, the Skier's Sandwich, which has become extremely popular among skiing guests on the go, and if you desire a unique and flavourful 3-course dinner, head to Restaurant Nuten.

Afterski next
Head to the afterski lounge at Kamben Café and Bar when the skiing day wraps up. They have a wide selection of beers from local breweries, and you can catch football matches and other sports broadcasts on the screens.
Don't miss on weekends, where the DJ starts the party and gets skiers move on the dance floor!
Epic skiing and the best lines
Myrkdalen consistently ranks as the top Norwegian ski resorts for the highest snowfall during the ski season.
– Any avid ski touring enthusiast can fulfill their wildest dreams with exciting free-riding opportunities, says Klaus with an enthusiastic smile.

There are also good conditions for back-country skiing if you prefer that. Follow the Rallarvegen road, take a loop around Reinungavatnet or enjoy the view from Reinunga or Skjebergsnuten.
– We're happy to connect you with certified mountain guides, says Klaus Finne.
Contrasting experiences
Surrounded by mountains and fjords, Myrkdalen has a distinctive character and offers contrasting experiences.
Klaus says it's not only about thrilling skiing, powder, and pristine slopes.
"We also provide a variety of activities without skis, and just 35 minutes away, you can have spectacular and exotic fjord experiences that Western Norway is known for.
Klaus Finne concludes with a smile:
